2017 President's Letter

Posted By Krissa Hatfield (Kropschot), Thursday, February 2, 2017

It is a great time to validate or renew your connection with AMIfs.  2016 brought several AMIfs initiatives to a successful close, including a new vendor partnership program, a new membership program, a dedicated Enterprise Risk Management topic and faculty at the AMIfs Institute and a Certified Profitability Professional (CPP) designation.

The AMIfs partnership program was launched in 2016 and now provides the opportunity for brand exposure using various channels, such as our new website and logo, to our members and the Financial Services Industry all year long, including the following:

  • Co-Branded Email Campaigns

  • Exclusive Speaking Opportunities

  • Webinar Hosting

  • Hosting of Marketing Collateral on AMIfs Website

  • Co-Branded Research and Member Surveys

  • AMIfs Journal Articles

  • Co-Branded Materials for both the AMIfs National Conference and the AMIfs Institute

  • Event Case Study Sessions

  • Flexible packages that allow you to customize additional features

2017 is already off to a great start with many partnership renewals and new partners joining in on the very unique AMIfs opportunity.

The membership program was also launched in 2016 and is designed to maximize the value of AMIfs corporate and individual memberships all year long as well, including the following:

  • One free Webinar per individual/corporate membership

  • Unlimited access to annual research reports

  • Unlimited access to AMIfs journal articles

  • Discounted Annual Conference

  • Discounted AMIfs Institute

  • Discounted Webinars

  • Discounted CPP eLearning Programs

  • Personalized Peer Consulting

  • One free Job Posting

  • Member Breakfast at the Annual Conference

  • Earn CPE Credits when you Attend our Events.

The CPP designation is also new in 2016 and is promoted along with the annual AMIfs Institute curriculum.  The Institute is a week-long educational event in a classroom setting with the following subjects:

  • Asset/Liability Management (ALM)

  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

  • Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)

  • Comprehensive Cost Management (CCM)

  • Integrated Profitability

  • Bringing it all together

The AMIfs Institute is a great experience as you can see in some of the testimonials on the www.amifs.org website.  The website also provides an eLearning series of on-demand webinars that includes each of the CPP subjects for Institute alumni and other CPP candidates.  Plus you earn 45 CPE's for attending.

The AMIfs Annual Conference in April each year will be rotating site locations between Orlando, New Orleans and Phoenix.  The 2017 conference is April 26 – 28 in Orlando.  We have three great keynote speakers this year including:

  • Mark Vitner, Chief Economist, Wells Fargo

  • Daniel Crosby, Behavioral Finance Expert, Nocturne Capital

  • Ed Young, Senior Director, Moody’s Analytics.

We also have some great concurrent sessions and panel discussions lined up in Orlando.  On breaks, the AMIfs partnership program will be on full display with an ever-expanding Resource Center that has many vendor solution exhibits and demonstrations.  The Annual Conference testimonials are also on the AMIfs website.  Check them all out

As you can see, we have a lot of momentum coming into 2017.  I hope you will renew your membership or consider joining AMIfs this year and get involved.  It is a great organization with very unique Management Information value in Financial Services.  Take full advantage of what AMIfs has to offer and become a CPP in the process. You can also earn CPE's for this event, check the brochure online for details!

Best regards and have a great 2017!

Robert McDonald

President, AMIfs

AMIfs Annual President’s Letter

Posted By Jefferson Nathasingh, Thursday, January 15, 2015

It has been a truly remarkable 2014 for AMIfs and as we enter the beginning of 2015, it is worth taking a brief look back at our accomplishments.

Our Annual Conference and Institute were both well attended and the content of the sessions at the Conference and the class work at the Institute confirm that while adhering to the fundamentals of Performance Management and Profitability, we are successfully adapting to the changing regulatory and financial landscape. Your organization is devoting considerable effort in the areas of Capital Management, Stress Testing and Liquidity. In addition, the few webinars which were offered provided an interactive and efficient way for members to participate in key topics and practices in an up to the minute forum. You should expect more of these in 2015.

During 2014 we also rolled out our new logo and website which have accorded us to put forth a very modern look and feel while enhancing usability and navigation.  This has been a win for us given your very positive feedback. Furthermore, we conducted a members’ survey in order to make sure we are continuing to focus on your needs as finance professionals and meeting the educational prerogatives that are necessary for your continued success.

I hope you are all looking forward to attending the Annual Conference towards the end of April. In addition to being held in New Orleans, you can expect a full agenda with keynotes and sessions which we know will enlighten and give insight into your day to day activities. Your Conference Committee has been diligently at work to provide you with the best possible content and speakers. I urge you to sign up and bring along your friends and colleagues who can benefit from the sessions.

Finally, at the Annual Conference I will end my two year term as President. It has been a substantive two years.  You can be proud of your AMIfS Board and Management during this time. We feel we have deftly navigated the latter years of the Financial Crisis to put your organization on a strong and growing path forward.

Wishing you a healthy and successful 2015.

Sincerely,

Jeff Nathasingh

President, AMIfs
